The Meatrix is a two-minute flash animation that spoofs the popular Matrix movies. But instead of Keanu Reaves, the Meatrix stars a young pig, Leo, who lives on a pleasant family farm ... he thinks. Leo is approached by a wise and mysterious cow, Moopheus, who shows Leo the truth about modern farming -- the truth about the Meatrix!

The film describes the problems with factory farming and offers viewers a solution - the final page of the flash directs viewers to the Eat Well Guide, a national online directory of sustainably-raised meat, which is available at

1. WHO IS WATCHING?

In less than 2 months, over 3 million people have watched The Meatrix. The film has exploded worldwide, with viewers contacting us from around the world, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Check Republic,
Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, UK/England and the United States.

As of December 31st, 17,000 different web sites around the world have
linked to The Meatrix, making the film a truly global phenomenon!

2. TRANSLATING THE MEATRIX

Due to worldwide demand, The Meatrix is currently being translated and
re-dubbed into Spanish, Polish, Portuguese and French. Please check our website at http://www.themeatrix.com/action/ for more information on when these versions will be released.

In addition, we are also working on transcripts for other languages. Dutch and Italian versions are currently online, and additional scripts are being translated into Chinese and German. We have also had requests for transcripts in Japanese, Czech, Hungarian, Russian and Korean. You can find all the translations on the International Meatrix action page at

3. INTERNATIONAL GROUPS

In order to stop factory farms across the globe, we have added an
international action page as well as separate action pages for the United
Kingdom, Australia and Canada. If you would like to find out what groups

organizations working against factory farming and promoting sustainable
agriculture in other parts of the world.

After repeated requests for merchandise, GRACE and Free Range Graphics are selling tee-shirts, coffee mugs, lunch boxes and other merchandise featuring Moopheus, Leo and Hennedy (the chicken in the film).

All profits are being donated to Farm Aid's Saving Family Farms Program. Farm Aid is more than just a concert - the organization also provides immediate and effective support services to farm families in crisis, gives emergency grants to small farms threatened with hunger and loss of heat or electricity, and funds organizations that work locally to strengthen family farms.

6. THE FUTURE OF THE MEATRIX

-- Because of the overwhelming response to The Meatrix, CD-Rom and video copies of the film are being sent to colleges, universities and schools around the world, along with literature on factory farming.
