Foreign and non-resident ownership of Saskatchewan agricultural land threatens the continuation of family and private farm ownership

Under an effective “Quality Saskatchewan Program” the need to reach consensus about how to make a whole community, with all of its economic, social and institutional components, into a “Quality Saskatchewan” region, will renew the fundamental cooperative spirit that first built our Saskatchewan society.

The name “Saskatchewan” should become synonymous, nationally and internationally, with “certified high quality, environmentally responsible and economically sustainable products, institutions and communities.”

The government of Saskatchewan should facilitate the achievement of “Quality Saskatchewan ” status by communities, organizations and farm and business operations by redesigning provincial financial and regulatory supports that encourage the expansion of a Quality Saskatchewan Program.

Post-secondary education is unfairly expensive, especially to rural residents, and so it discriminates against many qualified students and imposes a severe debt load on new graduates, in many cases driving them to seek employment out of province.

All qualified Saskatchewan citizens are entitled to free higher education as they are to health care and secondary education. Government should move quickly to reduce and eventually eliminate student tuition fees.

Gambling in Saskatchewan is socially destructive and a regressive form of taxation, and “each nickel SIGA or any other gambling organization makes comes from the hand of a loser - someone who had a dream to win, but lost.”

The citizens of Saskatchewan communities deserve the right to decide if they wish to permit gambling to continue in their community.
